It is amazing that so many American and European men question the honesty and integrity of the Russian and other Eastern European women who sign up with mail order bride agencies in the hopes of meeting a man from Australia, the United States, the European Union, or Canada.   They just do not believe that these women could be their Russian dates.  It simply seems to good to be true for a lot of guys. 

In Russia single girls face some very difficult choices and it is not surprising that so many so many opt to sign up at international dating agencies in an effort to meet a foreign man. 

Russian women are very well educated and knowledgeable about the world.  They know that they will almost certainly have a better quality of life in Australia, the European Union, Canada or any US state than they would if they remained in the old Soviet Bloc. 

In 2008 the average GDP in the United Kingdom was estimated at $37,400, at $39,300 in Australia, at over $40,000 in Canada, and around $48,000 in the US.  The same year the number for Russia was $15,800, about $12,000 for Belarus, in the Ukraine in it was about $7,000, and in Moldova it was a paltry $2,500, which is barely enough to buy a decent set of golf clubs. So, Moldova girls and Ukraine models are going to almost certainly be in a better economic situation whether they end up living in New Orleans, Newcastle, or New South Wales.

It’s not real complicated and in Belarus girls have it figured out, but can you really blame them? The truth on the ground is actually worse than the numbers, because in Russia single girls face enormous discrimination and this discrimination is what really drives so many Moldova girls to the internet.

You would think that a beautiful girl living in Moscow would just get a Russian date and not go searching the internet for a Western man, but the big problem is that since the fall of the Soviet Union men across Eastern Europe have all essentially become alcoholics.

It is an old stereotype, but it is true.  Russian men are the heaviest consumers of alcohol in the known universe and it is not even close.  Until recently scientist estimated that Russian men drank the equivalent of more than 15 liters of pure alcohol each year.   That may not sound like much but it is the equivalent of roughly 1000 cans of regular beer.  Think about that.  What would you be like if you poured down 1000 Budweisers  last year?

However, this was still not enough to explain why alcohol poisoning is 120 times more common in Russia than in the European Union.  Eventually, researchers discovered, although Russians had known it for years, that many men also drink quite a bit of very cheap industrial alcohol too.  Literally, there are stores in Russia that sell cases of cologne as an alcoholic beverage.   No one is quite certain, but the perhaps Russian men are drinking twice what the scientist had thought – no one is quite sure.

As the consumption of alcohol has skyrocketed the life expectancy of Eastern European men has plummeted like a falling bomb.  The average life expectancy for a Russian man was only 59 years old in 2008, and worse, many men start breaking down under the physical strains of alcoholism in as early as their mid-twenties and some are physical wrecks and emotional basket cases by their mid-thirties.

For the average Russian woman what is even worse is that the booze often turns the sweet guy she met in college or university into a raging maniac three nights a week. 

All of these factors makes a Russian date unattractive for many women and pushes them towards Western guys, but if you really do your research you will see that the social issues are critical.
These are real women and they are just looking for a better life.
